Praise Adonai, give praise, you servants of Adonai. Praise the name of Adonai. May the name of Adonai be blessed from now and forever. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of Adonai is praised. Adonai is high above all nations; God's glory is above the heavens. Raising the poor from the dust, lifting the needy from the ash heap, to seat them with nobles, with the nobles of God's people. Praise Adonai, all nations; extol God, all peoples. For God's kindness overwhelms us, and the truth of Adonai is forever. Halleluyah! Give thanks to Adonai, for God is good; God's kindness is everlasting. Let Israel say: God's kindness is everlasting. From the narrow place I called to God; God answered me with wide expanse. I thank You for answering me; You have become my salvation. The stone the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is from Adonai; it is wondrous in our eyes. This is the day Adonai has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Please, Adonai, save us! Please, Adonai, grant us success! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of Adonai; we bless you from the house of Adonai. You are my God and I thank You; my God, I exalt You. Give thanks to Adonai, for God is good; God's kindness is everlasting.
Hallel is a set of Psalms (113-118) recited on festivals, Rosh Chodesh, and Chanukah. It is sung joyfully, often responsively, and includes well-known verses of thanksgiving.
Variation: On some days a shortened "half Hallel" is recited; which days these are varies between communities.
